Me

Hello. My name is Huw Martin. I live in a secluded part of the Cheshire county in the UK – near to Manchester and Liverpool, just to put things into context. I’m still in full time education, studying A-Levels in Business Studies, Critical Thinking, English Language, Media and Psychology at South Cheshire College. Don’t be creepy™¹.

huwmart.in is a personal site where I like to write about technology, design, business, pens, and anything else that takes my fancy.

huwmart.in runs on WordPress and is hosted at A Small Orange on a small slice of shared hosting.

The site design is the handsome Duet from the fantastic people at The Theme Foundry, it’s fully responsive, by the way. The header font used is a quirky sans-serif called Maven Pro, my title font is Droid Serif and the body font is Lato.

I often use footnotes in posts, so for the best experience I recommend installing Footnotify if you’re using Safari, Chrome, or Firefox. It’s a really great little extension that shows footnotes in a popover in-line once clicked on.

All posts are written in Markdown – the syntax language by John Gruber – and are typically composed in Chocolat or iA Writer on the Mac, for mobile on the iPhone I use Simplenote or iA Writer. All pretty awesome stuff.

I own a beautiful iPhone 5, and a just as beautiful 13-inch MacBook Pro, recently I added an iPad 3 as well. I also keep around a beat down 17-inch iMac G5 PowerPC running Leopard.
